Students pursuing their Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems at Fletcher Technical Community College have the background to help you and your clients.
Students are competent in several areas of interest, including Help Desk Process Improvement, Custom Software Development, AWS Cloud Migration Strategy, Cybersecurity Risk Assessment, Incident Response Plan Development, and IT Project Management.
Students can work for 100 hours in a project-based internship, starting in March, to help solve and derive insights about a challenge faced by a prospective company partner.
Students
Students are available for a 100 hour internship to complete a project related to a business challenge your organization is facing related to information systems. Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the internship. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.

Requirements
Project activities might include but are not limited to:
- Help Desk Process Improvement: Analyze an organization’s current IT support system to identify bottlenecks and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Custom Software Development: Design and build a small-scale application to address a specific organizational need, such as automating repetitive tasks or managing customer data.
- AWS Cloud Migration Strategy: Create a step-by-step plan for transitioning an organization’s infrastructure to AWS.
- Cybersecurity Risk Assessment: Conduct a risk analysis of an organization’s digital environment, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending actionable strategies to enhance security.
- Incident Response Plan Development: Develop a comprehensive incident response plan for handling cybersecurity breaches.
- IT Project Management: Planning, organizing and executing IT-related tasks.
