Details

Our organization is committed to making Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up. Events play a critical role in our organization, helping to expand our reach on the lives of 8 million young Canadians, and through raising funds to support our mission throughout the year.

Children First Canada is currently launching a new event: the Future is NOW: Celebrating Canada's Top 10 U18 Changemakers, taking place on October 30th, 2025, in Toronto, ON. We are also launching our annual National Child Day event taking place on November 20th, 2025. Students will work directly with Children First Canada staff members to design, plan, and execute the two projects this fall.

We would like to work with Level UP students to support the planning and logistics for the event to help meet our goals.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our mission, values and goals.
  • Creating a plan of action and a detailed breakdown of tasks for volunteers to complete at the event.
  • Coordinating event logistics.
  • Assisting in marketing and promoting our event.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Recommending improvements for future fundraising events.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our mission, values and goals
  • Establishment of the event volunteer management plan and schedule.
  • Creation of a plan of action

Bonus steps would include:

  • Recommending areas of improvement for future events

Final deliverables should include

  • A volunteer management plan and event plan.

Children First Canada is a national charity that aspires to create a country where children can grow up free from the barriers that prevent them from achieving their full potential – starting with the protection of their most basic rights to childhood. As a charity that’s uniquely focused on the rights of children in Canada, we aim to raise awareness of the issues, equip young Canadians as the leaders of today and tomorrow, and unite our country around a shared vision and plan to make this the best place in the world for kids to grow up.
