Details

The R/V Pelican, a research vessel operated by LUMCON, requires a comprehensive Cybersecurity Emergency Response Plan to safeguard its digital infrastructure against potential cyber threats. This project aims to develop a structured and effective response strategy that can be swiftly implemented in the event of a cybersecurity incident. The plan will be developed in six stages, starting with an overview of the vessel's current digital environment to understand its vulnerabilities. Next, the team will identify specific events that would trigger the emergency response plan, ensuring that all potential threats are accounted for. The project will then focus on creating a detailed technical response plan for containment and remediation of identified threats, followed by a high-level technical plan for recovery to restore normal operations. Additionally, a communication plan will be devised to ensure clear and efficient information flow during an incident. Finally, all components will be integrated into a cohesive document that can be easily referenced and implemented by the vessel's crew.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a comprehensive Cybersecurity Emergency Response Plan document for the R/V Pelican. This document will encompass an overview of the vessel's digital environment, a list of trigger events, a technical response plan for containment and remediation, a high-level recovery plan, and a communication strategy. The final integrated document will serve as a practical guide for the vessel's crew to effectively manage and mitigate cybersecurity incidents.
