This project focuses on the creation of an immersive virtual reality (VR) learning space aimed at revitalizing the Nehiyawewin (Cree) language. Design students will collaborate to develop a culturally grounded, interactive environment that supports a mentor-apprenticeship model. The goal is to pair fluent Cree speakers with learners in a setting that reflects Cree worldviews and supports language acquisition through contextual and embodied experiences. Students will begin by evaluating existing immersive learning tools to identify effective design elements. They will then apply graphic and experiential design principles to co-create a VR space that promotes intergenerational knowledge sharing.
